I've Ate Everywhere
Here's a play on Johnny Cash's "I've Been Everywhere". Unlike the 60's and 70's, we don't relate much to being a drifter, showing our worldliness by the towns we've blown through. Now it's more the places we've eaten. In that light, I made some changes.
[spoken introduction]
I was workin out back near this here company's parking lot
When along came my tech guy with his tummy a rumbling loud
If your goin' to lunch with us, Mack with me you can ride
And so I climbed into the car and then I settled down inside
He asked me if I knew any new places I hadn't been before
And I said, "Listen! I've eaten every place there is and more!"
I've ate everywhere, man
I've ate everywhere, man
Gnoshed the dessert fare, man
I've ate the fountain bare, man

Twice at Friendly's? I'd a thunk once woulda been enough. Heh. Nah, Friendly's was a hangout of mine back east in the '70s. Good memories.
By the way, that song was not originally Johnny Cash's.
The original was Australian, by Geoff Mack. The original Aussie place names were replaced with American ones by Hank Snow.

Ooo... That's interesting to know! Thanks Loren!
Do I really have Friendly's in there twice?

I like it!
Aside from the Australian original, there is also a New Zealand version, also very good.

There is also a version for Japan and one for Germany - also many adaptions
eg All the illneses I have had; all the names of medications I have had; all the names of plants in the garden etc
If you put the name of the song "I've been everywhere", into a search engine you will find more than 8 MILLION references to this song on the InterNet - not bad for a fill in song

I've Been Everywhere (In Texas) MP3 Excerpt
Geoff Mack (Texas Version Adapted By Brian Burns)
I was totin’ my pack along the dusty Amarillo road
when along came a semi with a high and canvas covered load.
“If you’re goin’ to Amarillo, Mack, with me you can ride,”
and so I climbed up in the cab and then I settled down inside.
He asked me if I’d seen a road with so much dust and sand,
and I said, “listen, bud, I’ve traveled every road in this here land...”
CHORUS:
I’ve been everywhere, man,
I’ve been everywhere, man,
I’ve crossed the deserts bare, man,
breathed the mountain air, man,
of travel I’ve had my share, man,
I’ve been everywhere.

Winnsboro, Jacksboro, Hillsboro, Santa Rosa,
Austin, Houston, Galveston, Texarkana,
