Nick Berg's Head
A few days ago it struck me that Nick Berg's head had some parallels to John Brown's Body. So I played around with a few stanzas of it

It wasn't very good so I switched to Battle Hymn of the Republic, which worked out a bit better. I killed the last stanza though, because after leaving the line about Christ and the lilies intact, the next one involved a wench, a tent, and a camel. It is, after all, a quicky.

One of my readers, Ken S. or KVNS, who is a known for his lyrical skills, responded to my dissatisfaction with a few of my stanzas, and made some improvements to the third stanza. Here's the result.

Why all the profanity? We have real issues here that affect everyone in this country. Swearing doens't do anyone any good. State your point with eloquence and brevity.
Second,
The middle east and the waring, religous factions have been fighting jihad against each other for centuries. As my father, a decorated war veteran would say, "those rag-head bastards have had thousands of years longer than us to evolve into something worth a damn but no, they just keep killing each other".
